Xian's Charter and Rules.
« on: March 25, 2013, 10:59:18 PM »
Community Charter:

Please read our Charter and our Rules if you wish to join us.

Xian is a group of mature gamers who enjoy similar company. We are a relaxed and casual group with a focus on a stress free environment. Everyone can go at their own pace without pressure to do anything they aren't interested in doing, or aren't ready to do.  While we do plan on enjoying everything the game has to offer, we are in no rush to be at the top or to be the best. We all have a life outside of the game, and this is important to remember. Regarding members, Xian will always operate by the motto “quality, not quantity.” We strive to create a family atmosphere that is tight knit where we are more than just fellow gamers, but friends as well.

We understand that personal life takes precedence, this is just a game.

Community Rules:

While we do not wish to have a laundry list of rules for members to abide by, there must be some in order to create and enforce the kind of playing environment we wish to experience. Breaking of the rules will result in a warning. If problems continue, expulsion from Xian can result.

Upon acceptance, applicants will be given the status of Recruit for a period of 1 week more or less.  After that period, the Recruit’s status will be changed to Full Member and has all of the privileges of being a full member.

1.  Recruits may have to pass an interview process to be accepted into Xian Community as a Recruit.  It's not that scary and not always necessary.

2.  Recruits can be removed at any time by any of the Leadership during the Recruitment phase for failure to comply with any of the rules of Xian Gamers.

3.  After 1 week of being a Recruit, the Leaders will have a review of the Recruit before they are given Full Member status.  In some cases, the Recruit period can be increased or decreased at the discretion of the Leadership.

All members need to adhere to the following rules:

1.  Be mature and treat people the way you want to be treated. This goes beyond just Xian members, but to everyone on the server. Every Xian member represents the Clan/Guild/Squadron/Community as a whole on a day-to-day basis so treat both Community members and people on any server in which we frequent, with kindness and respect.

2.  No name calling, insulting, flaming, arguing, etc. EVER. If there is a disagreement, try to communicate with the person to resolve the problem. If the problem continues, contact one of the Community leaders.

3.  We are a Christian based community, yet we do not require members or potential members to be Christian. Always keep it clean in all zones of chat and whispers or on Discord or TeamSpeak. Bad language, racism and dirty jokes are not tolerated as many members have families and kids who may either see what is being said or hear it.  We have a zero tolerance for obscene language.  Please refrain from using some of the foul abbreviations as well.

4.  No pressure. We are a relaxed and casual Community with members who have real lives. Never is it appropriate to push or pressure members to level fast or do anything they aren't ready or interested in doing.  We are not a competition Community.  We do plan activities, and the like, but we force no one to participate if they don't want to.  We are here to have fun and some may say, die often.

5.  Work together and assist the Community. You are in a Community for a reason, to be a part of a family and friends who help each other out and both give and receive. Therefore, assist in this aspect. Help people when you have the time.

6.  Everyone is urged give to the Community in order to receive benefits from the Community.  You can only get out what you put in.  Spending time helping others out, participating in Community events, monetary donations, and recruiting are all ways to participate in the Community, among many others. Our web hosting server cost money, and without your help they cannot exist.

7.  Members should to post in Roll Call 1 time per month.  Failure to do so will result in being removed from the Community.  If you are going to be gone for more than a month contact  a Leader via a PM. Roll Call will start on the 1st of every month and end on the last day of the month. *Note* This rule is dependent upon which game you play and what specific rules that may or may not apply to "Roll Call", given the nature of the game or individual Leaders overseeing those players.*

8. All players changing their names must notify a Leader within 24 hours of doing so. If the Leadership deems your username inappropriate, we will then ask that it be changed to an acceptable name. If this rule is not followed, you will be immediately removed from the Community.

9.  16+ years old. There may be a few exceptions!  Families of Full Members are one of those exceptions.

10. All players are required to download, install and be present in TeamSpeak and/or Discord when playing so that we may communicate without relaying information via chat, in or out of the game.

Failure to follow these rules will lead to disciplinary actions.  These actions will be up to the discretion of the Leadership.

1st offense will be a verbal warning.
2nd offense will be a written warning.
3rd offense will result in removal from Xian.

Note: *Serious offenses will result in removal without warning. These situations will however will only take place after leadership has convened and agreed by majority vote to remove a member immediately.*

We rarely have any problems with our membership and our rules are here to protect what we as a Community have created.

You can send a message to any Leader in game with any questions that you may have.
